Research interests:  Health impacts of public policies in the UK, Middle East and North Africa, and Europe, political economy of health and wellbeing, evaluation of public policies using randomized control trials and ethnographic methods, unemployment and mental health, poverty reduction and development policies and humanitarian intervention and refugee policy.

Adam is focused on completing two book projects - examining the political and policy determinants of health and wellbeing across contexts. The first - ‘Stabilising lives: how government policy doesn't always mess you up’ examines how a back-to-work programme in the United Kingdom helped people into employment but also improved mental health and wellbeing of the unemployed. The second explores the political economy of health in the Middle East across a number of case study countries - Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Gaza, Turkey and Yemen.
