Alyssa's work considers within-city inequalities in the quality of delivery for basic public services like piped water and trash collection. She asks when the quality of public services makes it onto the urban policy agenda, and how citizen, provider, and politician decisions influence service outcomes for the working and middle class. Her dissertation combines qualitative fieldwork with the analysis of social media and administrative data.
