Research interests: Health policy and bioethics, institutions, parties, campaigns, & elections, public policy, and social policy & the welfare state. 

Antonia Maioni is currently the William Lyon Mackenzie King Visiting Professor in Canadian Studies at Harvard University for the academic year 2023-24. She is active in the Canada Program at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs, and is appointed to teach in the Department of Government. Professor Maioni’s research interests include comparative politics, with a particular focus on public policy and health care reform, Canadian and Quebec politics. Professor Maioni is a professor of politics science and public policy at McGill University, in the Department of Equity, Ethics and Policy in the School of Population and Global Health in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, as well as an Associate Member in the Department of Political Science and in the Desautels Faculty of Management. During the Fall of 2022, she was an Associate Fellow in the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University in Bologna, Italy. Previously, she served as Dean of Arts at McGill University from 2016 to 2021, and as Associate Vice President for Research and International Relations from 2014 to 2016. She holds a Ph.D. in political science from Northwestern University.
