Petr Vasat is a Marie-Skłodowska Curie Researcher at the Georg-Simmel Center for Metropolitan Studies, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, and Visiting Scholar at the Weatherhead Centre for International Affairs, Harvard University. He is focused on the comparative study of architecture/design and poverty, informality and city, and the temporal, spatial, and social dimensions of street culture. Since 2021, he has been working on the EU-funded project that explores the global operation of social innovations that tackle urban poverty through architecture, art, or design. Petr is the author of the book Na jedné lodi. Globalizace a bezdomovectví v českém městě (In the same boat: Globalisation and homelessness in a Czech city) and has published his research in various highly ranked international journals, such as Urban Geography, Housing Studies or Cities.
