Yael is a researcher specializing in Poverty and Welfare Law, regulation of legislation, and socio-legal study of law in action. Her research deals primarily with the intersection between financial exclusion and other marginalized identities such as gender, ethnicity, culture, or geographical placing. Yael approaches these issues from a critical perspective, combining doctrinal legal framework with theories from social-work, law, and criminology, as well as public-policy analysis. Within the framework of poverty she has also researched and written about legal professionals - lawyers and judges - and their performances within the constraints of the existing legal system.
